Indian Trail - The "Birthplace" of Streetwise Music
Streetwise Music Instruction founder, Karl Mokal, opened the doors to his first studio in November 2001 in Indian Trail at 14015 E. Independence Highway, across from the Crystal Shoppe. What began as a small location with four instruction rooms grew to over 2,300 square feet of pure rock-and-roll paradise including six instruction rooms for guitar, bass, piano, drum and vocal students PLUS an awesome 16' by 20' practice stage with drums, microphones, and a full P.A. system! The walls were decorated with rock band memorabilia, tour posters, photos of our past ROCK SHOP concerts and, of course, our trademark LPs. After ten very successful years in Indian Trail, Karl and his talented team of instructors relocated just six miles down the road to the Shops @ Wesley Chapel!
The Shops @ Wesley Chapel
On October 1, 2011, we relocated our Indian Trail studio to this fantastic new shopping center in Matthews. Our beautiful studio has seven rockin' instruction rooms, a full stage and P.A. for ROCK SHOP practices, and is conveniently located at the intersection of Weddington-Monroe and Waxhaw-Indian Trail Roads near the WCWAA Rec Center, banks, restaurants, shopping and other family-friendly services. We are the ultimate one-stop music shop for private music instruction and Charlotte's BEST rock school - and, we now offer recording services, guitar re-stringing and repairs, and accessories like guitar picks and strings. Be sure to stop by, when you are in the area, and see why Wesley Chapel is rockin' a little harder these days!
Ballantyne Corners
In May of 2011 we expanded and moved into our studio in the Ballantyne Arts Center building - 11318 North Community House Road, behind Skillets and Genghis Grill. We outgrew our second, smaller location in the Fountains Shopping Plaza and were asked to join the arts center with members of the Morrison Family YMCA's Performing Arts Pre-School, Kindermusik, Ballantyne School of Theatre and Dance Academy of Ballantyne. This new facility boasts six beautiful new, fully-equipped instruction studios and a practice room for our ROCK SHOP bands with a full stage, drum kit, microphones and full P.A. system. Come on over and rock out with us some afternoon. You'll be hooked, too!
