Each private lesson includes a thirty-minute weekly session with an instructor. Our instructors have years of experience and education teaching and playing music. They understand what it takes to keep students interested in the learning process and to help them to reach their musical goals...whether it's understanding music theory, learning how to play along with a recording of their favorite artist, or striving to become the next classical, pop, country or rock star! All lesson materials and a personalized monthly progress report are included in the price on a student's monthly tuition.
Kids - 5 and older

Have you wanted to play guitar like the rock stars you see on Guitar Hero and YouTube?
We can help. With a huge library of songs at their fingertips, Streetwise Music instructors will make sure you meet your goals.
If your child is interested in learning a new musical instrument, the gift of music is always a wise choice. Streetwise Music has instructors who teach at every skill level...from beginner to very advanced...in every style - rock, blues, jazz, you name it!
Drum and keyboard students will be taught on our studio equipment. However, guitar and bass guitar students should bring their instruments to each lesson. If playing electric guitar, they need not bring guitar cables and amps - our studios are well-equipped, so our young musicians don't need a roadie!
Adults
Have you recently been inspired to take up a new instrument... or, perhaps, dust off one that you played in earlier years? We have a growing population of adult students and understand the demanding schedules that adults posess. We offer lessons beginning as early as 1 p.m., so you can attend a lesson on your lunch break, without disrupting your business or family life. And, since we have multiple instructors at each Streetwise location, there are opportunities for several family members to schedule lessons at the same time!
Adults also have an opportunity to enroll in our adult ROCK SHOP program where they perform live, on stage, at one of Charlotte's popular music venues. Here's a clip from our ROCK SHOP performance at Amos' Southend this past April...
CRISIS (Adult ROCK SHOP band) performing
"Sweet Child o' Mine" at Amos' Southend - April 18, 2010
And, other recent performances...
Hear No Evil (Adult ROCK SHOP band) performing
"Aint Talkin' Bout Love" at Tremont Music Hall - August 6, 2011
18 Minutes of Fame (Adult ROCK SHOP band) performing
"Dirty Deeds" at Amos' Southend - December 11, 2011
Senior Adults
Streetwise Music has a great program for senior adult students. We offer a 10% discount to all senior citizens interested in obtaining private music instruction.
In addition, we have a senior ROCK SHOP program, where musicians practice once a week for two hours, as a band, and perform on stage with our other ROCK SHOP bands each quarter. Madison Stegall is our lead instructor for the senior ROCK SHOP band - and, let me tell you... those "kids" ROCK, with Madison in charge.
